Good Shepherd’s chemo cap ministry creates knitted hats to donate at area hospitals and infusion centers. The caps are currently being donated to the infusion centers at Erlanger Medical Center. Although the caps are usually donated locally they have been well received at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Join us! The chemo cap group meets the third Thursday of every month at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Anyone can be a member as long as they already know how to knit or crochet. Those who want to help but cannot attend may make the caps at home and bring them in. Most of the group continually knits and brings in completed caps each month as their time allows. The caps are made with standard yarn which is supplied by the group, purchased or donated. The group also makes scarves and lap blankets.
Since 2015 the group has donated 1400 caps!
